Randolph County Farm Bureau Foundation Report By Steve Stallman, President
First of all, THANK YOU for making 2015 another successful year for the Foundation. A special thank you goes to all of the people who have contributed to the Randolph County Farm Bureau Foundation during the past year. Without you, there would be no foundation, no scholarships, no educational materials for the classroom, or anything else that the foundation accomplishes. The foundation was formed in 1994 so County Farm Bureau members and local communities could have a means to provide money to promote agricultural education and careers. Numerous businesses and industries have come and gone in our county, but agriculture has always been and will always be important to our county and to America. The importance of our industry needs to be taught in our schools and we also need to encourage and help our children to pursue careers in agriculture and agriculture related fields. This year we awarded scholarships in the amounts of $750 - $1,000 to qualified college students pursuing Agriculture careers. The RCFB Foundation committee awarded seven scholarships to Amber Bleem, Katie Burns, Kevin Langrehr, Jonathan Reinhardt, Justin Reinhardt, Melissa Renner, and Kody Schoenbeck. We are proud of all of our scholarship winners! Our eleventh annual Trivia Night in February brought in $1,519. The Foundation portion of the profits from the Farm Bureau ice cream stand during the SCTP and Grand American Shoots was $10,312, 50/50 drawing at annual meeting earned $186, and $1,805 of donations came in with dues notices. I would like to thank the Foundation Board of Directors this year for all of their efforts, Ron Deterding, Kirk Liefer, Kevin Luthy, Jack McCormick and Richard Wegener. A special thank you to Rich and Donna Wegener for hosting our Trivia Night, and to the donors for the silent auction, and to all the volunteers who help make and sell ice cream at the shooting complex. A memorial gift to the Foundation is a wonderful way to remember someone. Also, if you are in the process of writing or re-writing your will, please consider the Randolph County Farm Bureau Foundation in your giving plans. What a wonderful way to leave a legacy that will encourage future generations to understand or work in the field of Agriculture. The same field that is your way of life; that you have worked for and have enjoyed! Any donations to the Randolph County Farm Bureau Foundation are tax deductible! There will again be a 50/50 drawing this year. I hope you will buy a ticket. Thank You!
